Did it in 48:34 (7:50 pace). I was shooting for under 50 minutes so I was pleased.

Runner’s World Shoe Donation Program
Runner’s World has a great program where you can donate your old shoes. Extract from http://runnersworld.com/shoedonation:
Are your old running shoes taking up too much space in your closet? Then pack them up and send them to Runner’s World. We’ll make sure wearable shoes are donated to One World Running, where runners in the U.S. and abroad will wear them. We’ll also send shoes way beyond use to Nike’s Reuse-A-Shoe program, where shoes are recycled and turned into material that is used to build tracks and other athletic fields and equipment.

Eight Miles
So, a little trepidatious after last week’s 7 mile struggle, I set off this Sunday to do 8 miles. And it went really well. I think I might have taken it a little slower, so that probably helped. I felt very encouraged, and at the end I felt as if I could have gone on for another mile or two even. So maybe there’s hope of me completing this half-marathon after all.
